Stay Within Designer Wardrobe: Avoid communicating or making payments outside of the Designer Wardrobe platform. Scammers often try to lure you away to obtain your contact information or direct you to fraudulent websites. Remain within the Designer Wardrobe system and be wary of messages attempting to redirect you. -
Beware of Urgent Requests: Scammers often use pressure tactics, deadlines, and threats to rush your decision-making. Be skeptical of messages demanding immediate action, such as clicking a link before it expires or threatening account suspension or order cancellation. -
Exercise Caution with Links: Do not click on suspicious links. You do not need to leave Designer Wardrobe to confirm a payment or receive an order. Suspicious links may lead to malicious software or viruses. Avoid clicking on links that you are unsure of. Only copy and paste links if you are certain they are safe. -
Carefully Examine Message Details: Scammers often create fake websites and email addresses that closely resemble legitimate ones, but with slight variations, such as incorrect colours or added characters. Be wary of messages or websites that appear legitimate but request your personal information. -
Protect Your Personal Information: Unless you have contacted our support team regarding a specific issue, avoid sharing your data in messages. Information from your Designer Wardrobe profile settings (such as payment details, contact information, or address) is usually used automatically to complete a transaction, so there is no need to provide it in messages. -
Use Secure Checkout: Our secure payment provider handles all transactions, ensuring your financial details are not shared with the seller. With integrated shipping, we securely transmit only essential delivery details to shipping providers, eliminating the need to share this information in messages. -
Recognise Authentic Designer Wardrobe Communications: We send emails from addresses ending in @designerwardrobe.co.nz or designerwardrobe.com.au. Be cautious of email addresses that deviate from this format. Here’s an example of a fake message that was sent to a DW member: -
It did not come from a @designerwardrobe.co.nz or @designerwardrobe.com.au address.
-
It requested payment details outside the platform.
-
It asked the member to click a suspicious link (a QR code).
- 🛑 Reminder: Designer Wardrobe will never email you asking for personal or account information. All communication happens securely via DW Chat.
